With its dark color and craggy texture, this wood makes a rock‑solid foundation for just about any hardscape, whether you’re going for jungle vibes or a river aesthetic. It’s beginner‑friendly, pro‑approved, and sturdy enough to anchor an entire layout. It's proof that sometimes the root of a great aquascape really is the wood you start with.

Product Features and Benefits

• Unlike many other types of aquarium wood, Malaysian Driftwood is exceptionally dense. It is typically "sink-on-arrival," meaning it generally stays submerged without the need for additional weights.
• The rugged surface provides an excellent anchor point for live plants. It is the perfect substrate for attaching Moss, Anubias, or Bucephalandra to create a lush, planted aquarium hardscape.
• It provides a natural foraging ground for shrimp and other aquatic pets.

• Extra Small: 3-6 inches
• Small: 5-9 inches
• Medium: 7-12 inches
• Large: 11-16 inches
• Extra Large: 15-20 inches

Preparation and Care
A little extra prep goes a long way in maintaining its stunning appearance.

1. Rinse: Thoroughly rinse the piece to remove any dust or debris from transit.
2. Tannin Management: This wood will release natural tannins, giving your water a warm, "tea-colored" tint. This is a natural occurrence, and the effects will subside over time. If you prefer the crystal-clear look, boil the wood for 1–2 hours or soak it in a separate container until the water runs clear. You can also reduce this effect through consistent water changes or through the addition of Aquario Neo Carbon Bag
3. Placement: Once prepped, simply place the wood into your layout. Since it’s denser than a bad dad joke, it should settle into your substrate immediately.

Important note: We recommend rinsing wood thoroughly before adding it to an established aquarium. If you prefer, you may also boil the wood for at least 1–2 hours to help release tannins.
